Emu says....thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I'll try a different oil and clutch adjustment and get used to the residual 'thunk' . My Rs has only a couple of thousand miles on the clock so maybe it will slso settle down a bit with use.

Don't know how high your idle is but dropping it down a little might help

My Roadie thunked into gear......my Roadliner thunks into gear....... A loose belt will also allow "extra" play when dropping into gear. But , you can't re-engineer it , it's kinda built in. BB

Thanks Musky...Yep the idles sweet. I had it in for fitting of new exhaust system last week and they put the bike on the dyno, worked on jets, etc.

I guess I'm still getting used to the new ride so with a bit more time I'm sure I'll get over the little annoyances.
