#122133 stanag (User) Junior Boarder Posts: 171 Just thinking 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago   There has been some discussion about the rear spark plugs having a different color than the front cylinder spark plugs. Many people mention the lack of cooling to the rear cylinder. I believe that the firing order has a lot to do with the different colored spark plugs. Correct me if I am wrong, for I am wrong most of the time. Just ask my wife. I am not sure which cylinder fires first in the combustion cycle. Since they are not 180 degrees out the two intake strokes are close together. I am guessing that there is a flucuation in the vacuum or flow in the intake manifold that either leans one cylinder or enriches the other cylinder. Does this make sense? Possibly a pulse or lag in the manifold flow. Any thoughts? And, I've always enjoyed the distinction of being the exception to nearly every rule... When I changed my plugs at 19K this is how they came out... Now, to be the exception to the exception... if you look close... my left side plugs (both front and rear) are tan where the right side plugs are clear...
