2003 R* Clutch installation. 3 Years, 4 Months ago  
Completing work on tranny 2/3 pinion gear failure. Was getting ready to wrap things up and decided to check clutch arraingment again. We had not put plates in by directions. No problem to correct but my real question is: the placement of the thrust washer. My nephew had installed the thrust washer right behind the locking tab washer and nut. The manual calls for it to be installed in front of the clutch housing. The thrust washer has splines on inside when you slide the washer into position shown in the manual you slide past spline on shaft(thrust washer now not on shaft spline) and then mount clutch boss. Is this correct?
