Another thing I noticed when I pulled the OEM plugs was the fact that the difference of the spark gap between the four of them.
Belive it or not... there was a difference of nearly .003" between one and the other...

But, now I think about that... could that be planned?
I mean, if one side of the cylinder burns cooler (or, the opposite of hot...)
Could the difference in the gap (bigger gap cooler spark, or is it vice versa...)make a difference in efficiency?

Hard to tell with that gap gauge I've always been told to use a wire gauge. Most likely the plugs weren't gapped at all just stuck them in.

Yeah, I've heard of the wire gauge thing too... But, I've used this disc for so long now, I can pretty much get within .0005"...
I do know that I've gotten the new plugs all within that .0005" measurement and I've seen an appeciable increase in power... I've spun the tire twice from a rolling start... (although, not intentionally... )

I'm still waiting for any of the guys that are running the iradium plugs to tell us what they think and how they perform.

I put Irridium plugs in my and my buddy's bikes. They work just fine. Of course, if a copper plug is firing fine, you're not going to experience a difference.

My buddy thought his was running better, but he had more than 6k on his, and chances are it was going to need plugs by 8 anyway.

Mine didn't have 4k on it, and I could feel no difference, but then I just wanted to put them in and forget 'em for the next 10 years.

I always put some anti-seize compound on the threads too.
