What size 4 Years ago
I think I'm going to get Risers for Christmas this year. I took off the wind shild, tank, and seat just to get a better look at what I'd need to be getting at and saw a couple of large bolt (nut?) heads underneath the risers. What size are these on the '03 Roadstar Silverado. I only have a set of wrenches up to 17mm and that don't fit at all. So I'm thinking of hitting Sears before Saturday to buy tools. Please, someone help me out here. It will help make my Christmas a joyful one.

19MM

You can go for a 4" riser without replacing cables, but you may have to re-route a few things. Also, remove that chrome wire cable holder under the triple tree that the riser bolts hold in place.

I went the 4" riser with 1.5" pullback and ran into the shorts on upper brake line & throttle cables even when "re-routing".

The clutch will make it but I'd strongly suggest +2" OS on the upper brake line and throttle cables.

Actually, I replaced them all with proper Stainless!

Just my humble input . . .
