I installed the Kury R/T/B kit 2 weeks ago with Radiantz LED's in the turn signals. The entire job took less than 30 minutes and is truly plug and play. Remove the seat unplug on the left frame rail and plug in the Kury kit. The kit comes with a load equalizer that also plugs in. I cable tied them to the frame rails under the seat on opposite sides. I removed the lens covers took out the bulbs and that is when the only trouble I had began. The large rubber insolator around the light socket makes inserting and turning the light base of the LED very difficult as you do not have the bulb to push and turn. I found that by taking a pair of scissors and trimming the large flange end of the rubber away the LED socket could be easily inserted and turned. Replaced the lenses and the job was done. The kit makes turn signals and running lights red and the Kury kit also has the flashing back off module that makes the brake and turn lights flash 3 times before going solid on when the brakes are applied. My observation is that people notice and keep more distance at trafic stops. Well worth the expense.

The LED's are pricy, but they are really bright and get the attention you want.

There was a slight delay in ordering, but I think Kuryakyn has them in stock now.

CruiserBob:

Did you first try the Kury controller with the OEM 1156 amber bulbs? I know that it is recommended to use red bulbs, but I'm more interested in knowing if the new setup was enough, by itself, to get another driver's attention. I don't want to have to spend the additional $$$ on LEDs if it's not necessary.

Also, using the red LED bulbs, did you have to install a second load equalizer?

Thanks.

In fact I installed the Kury kit on my girlfriend's Vstar first and after plugging in the module I turned on the ignition and tested the lights. The Amber lights came on and flashed with the Brake. They were fast blink with out the load equalizer. I turned off the ignition switch and plugged in the LE and tried again. The blink speed was perfect.

You can get a good result with the kit and red color bulbs from any auto parts store. I chose the LED's for brightness as I need all I can get down here in the land of the aged tourist.

The kit comes with one LE and a plug for a second to be added if needed. I did not need a second LE as the 06 R* comes with an LED brake light so it already has one, the second is for the R/T signals, I think.

I think every manufacturer should adopt this system as it greatly enhances visibility and safety.

Sounds good. I think I'm going to try them with red bulbs first. If that isn't bright enough, then I'll use the LED bulbs.

We don't have the same "blue hair" issue up here in NJ, but we have our share of crazies. I definitely want to be seen, especially from behind, where you don't always catch the crazies sneaking up on you!

"The kit comes with one LE and a plug for a second to be added if needed. I did not need a second LE as the 06 R* comes with an LED brake light..."

I don't know what your expereinces are, but I had my riding buddy tell me that my 06 Road* tail light, even when braking, is very difficult to see in bright daylight.

"I think every manufacturer should adopt this system as it greatly enhances visibility and safety."

No truer words have ever been spoken. I agree wholeheartedly.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with this Kury set-up. The kit isn't exactly cheap, so I wanted to be sure that it was a worthwhile pursuit. Plus, the plug & play aspect makes it a no-brainer for me.

Thanks, again.
