O.K. Thanks. I'll check out some of those threads. Hey, looks like you're riding an '05 two-tone Silverado, like mine. Good choice. Tom

That, too, is a great idea. I had actually thought about modifying the stock box at one time. Sounds fairly simple to execute, as well. Thanks

I had a hypercarger on my v-star and I think it was mostly for looks as the underside was open anyway..On my roady ,I have modified the stock air box by drilling 1/2 inch holes around The black plastic, and with a K&N filter and stage 1 jetting it runs great, sounds great.( Vance and Hines long shots )
For serious engine mods I would reconcider.
Cheers

I think if all your doing is pipes and air box mods any of the BAK's will flow well enough. I am not a fan of the Hyper charger. Some of the dyno numbers that I have seen posted on the riders forum have shown a few HP off the BAK's.

I have the Speed Star BAK with the competition back plate and it works well as I am sure the barrons deal does. I am going to try the tall version of the K&N for the Speed Star unit as it has even more surface area than the standard K&N. I doubt I will see a difference though. I think unless your going big-bore with cams and ported heads with larger valves the standard units flow enough.
