Could be any of several things. If you'll do a search here on the site for "puking gas" you'll find several threads where this has been discussed.

Gidday...ravenscar..a WARM from Oz mate...Like CJ says, someone will sort this out for you. There are previous threads on this

What bike are you riding mate...(year and model). I'm only guessing but it sounds a bit like you've got a sticky float or needle valve not seating in the carby.. ..presuming yours isn't EFI.

Be patient mate...people here are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I'll be happy to hear about this also! I own an 06 Roadie and after a good ride and I turn the bike off, within a few minutes out comes the petrol and down my rear cylinder. I would like to say it's after a hot day but heck it's always hot in Tucson.

That's the carb puking. You will have to turn the petcock to off to cut off the fuel after a good ride (especially in hot weather).

I usually shift to neutral (so I can free up my clutch hand) and then turn the petcock to off a few seconds before I shut her off.

If I plan on startin her up fairly soon afterward (while she is still hot) I start her up then turn the fuel switch back to on.

And by the way,

Mate...I just bumped a previous thread back up the queue...Check under 'Fuel Pump Running' thread. You might find some useful info there.

Re:gas spiting out behind the air fillter onto engine 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
it seems like alot of riders experence this i also found this info " found it's even a good idea to turn it off and let it idle a bit to kind of relieve the fuel pressure from the pump. I was having an issue with it burping gas about 2 minutes after shut down and since I do that, no more. I imagine things are different on a FI model. And he's right about the stock exhaust. Do the stage one at least. MC
Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable " i will try this first becouse it is to the tee what mine is doing after like 100 miles i cut it off and wham puke lol its just buging me
