Engine mods - high comp pistons, big bore, etc. 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Musky's pic of the 102 cid has intrigued me and I have been batting around the idea of doing an upgrade. I want to ask a few questions of those who have done this as follows:

What upgrade work have you done: High compression pistons with or without a re-bore and sleeves; valve springs; head porting, etc?

Are you satisfied with the results?

Were the costs in time and money worth it?

How much did the upgrade cost?

Would you do it again?

What would you do differently?

Thanks, guys

I am pumping out 75 HP and 97 lbs torque stock bore, BAK, ported stock manifold, Bub Pipes, and Dyna 3000. Seems like a lot of money just for 9 more lbs of torque to me.

Curt like I said I was burning rich. the tec even said if I had the carbs fuel and air mixture right he would get at the minimum of ten more horse out of her if not more and by the way high compression pistons will only give you about 10 more horses

Guess I'll stick with my 36-38 mpg city 46-48 highway at 80+ mph and 87 octane. She goes good enough for me although I did think about having something done if I had to go into it. Bill will tell ya she scoots along really good.

sometimes its a fine line between HP, gas mileage, running cooler, running hotter and SVS. Kind of a juggling act.

Curt, thats still about 10 HP more than a stock bike. 14% gain is pretty good.
