I wonder if this is possible 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I pulled the cover off of the front drive pulley to see whats under there. Well it's a big chrome bowl shaped area and the pulley is behind it. If they hadn't cast in a number to it you could leave the cover off, it looks kind of cool.
I wonder if you could mill out the center of it exposing the pulley and still have suffcient strength for the job it does.

they make kits to expose the pulley much more than just knocking out the circle part of the stock cover, i do not know if the bowl shape of it is actually keeping anything together except the plastic rollers...it may actually be possible to knock out the center and have it run fine.

don't have a picture but essentially it looks like an open cavity with a pulley in the middle...i think the nude pulley kits just put a nice chromed out flat plate around the pulley so that the pulley stands out

Go to coyotecustoms.com they have a bobber with nothing at all except the pully, looks good if you like that "simple" look. I have the nude pully kit if I had known then what I know now I just might have saved some money. Probably not just would've bought something else.

that part is the rear engine mount. the barrons kit that exposes the pulley is a nice look.

yes you can knock out the center aswell as there are also replacements for it, ie smooth, milled ect.

If you don't like the stock cover, you can replace it with one of these. There's a larger photo showing it a little closer in the Flickr album.

Hey Tampa - is that chrome cover mounted with adhesive? And I thought those were only for R*s up to '03?! Looks great!
