I can't believe there is no response in two hours,,,I do wish I knew more about the internals of a RS engine, but I kind of dumb on this subject,,,,make sure all your electronics are hooked up. And good luck!

Are you sure it is getting enough fuel? I take it you are still using the same jetting you had before you rebuilt the engine? You did say it fires but won't stay running. Sounds like it may not be getting enough gas.

I haven't done much to my Roadie, but I have rebuilt a few others in my day. Start simple, it's usually something that when you find it, you want to beat yourself on the forehead for .

Since you say it fires but then stops, it sounds like it may be a fuel problem.
Free flow some fuel out of the tank petcock. When you took the tank off, you may have tipped it to the petcock side and gotten some debris stuck in it .
Do you still run a fuel pump? If so, did it get reconnected? Do you hear that telltale clicking when you turn the key on?
Move on to the carbs. Did all of the linkage get reconnected correctly?

Just start simple and hopefully you'll find it. If not, I'm sure some of the more experienced Roadie Guru's will chime in shortly.

Good Luck.

Darcy when I had my HC pistons I had it done daring the trans recall buddy when I picked it up they wouldn't even start it and told me that it was running a little rough and that I might have to adjust my dyna so didn't think much of it so I took of the wife right behind me in her car and went about a half a block and pulled over and was ready to take it back and ride it up his !!!! the wife calmed me down and reminded my about what they said about adjusting the dyna and come to find out that's what it was he had it set for running nitrous rev limiter out of sight and not one setting right.

So if you have a dyna check that

You may have an air lock in the fuel line too. Take the gas cap off the tank put the key back in and turn it on put you mouth in the gas filler aqnd blow real hard to pressurize the system. Put the gas cap back on and try and start it again. Yea I know sounds stupid but it works.

Ditto on the fuel. An engine needs 3 things to run. Fuel, compression and ignition at the right time. If it runs when you add extra fuel then start looking for a fuel issue.
