I git 7200 miles out of my replacement Metzler ME880 rear. Switched to Dunlop Cruisemax. Nearly the same handling-wise, but the tires are holding up much better. Both are much better than the Bridgestone as far as handling.

Everyone's tire experiences seem to be different based on riding style, road conditions, 1-up vs 2-up, etc. Many others seem to have gotten much better wear out of the Metzlers than I did.

I have the Avon Venoms on front and rear. I replaced the stock rear Bridgestone at 9,400 miles and have about 20,400 miles on the scoot now. The Avon will easily go another 2-3,000 miles. I am very pleased with the smoothness, control and wet traction I get with the Avons. I have never ridden Metzlers so cannot comment, but I will replace my Avon with another Avon. I think they just changed the Venoms to a Cobra, but I may have misunderstood the advertisement I saw. For reference I am about 210 pounds, and ride 2 up about 20% of the time. I keep my pressure at 40 psi rear and 38 front. I only have 5,000 on the front tire and it does not even look used, but will have to see how long it lasts.

That's what I'm running on mine and I'm quite satisfied with them. You can pick them up for $115 - $125 on-line. I paid $150 each plus tax mounted and out the door at Scooter Pete's in Tyler this Spring.
