AFter reading several posts using the search function, I'm more confused than ever so I wanted to ask:
What
carb model is stock in a Roadstar 1700 (2006)?
What jets are stock?
What size screws are used in the float bowl? (these are destroyed when changing jets the first time and I plan to replace with socket head type)
Is Kuryakan jet size/numbering nomenclature the same as the stock jet manufacturer?
My Twin Velocity kit came with jets and recommened using a 182.5 with free flowing exhaust systems, needle clip on 2nd groove, 37.5
Pilot Jet and 1.3 Pilot Air Bleed. If their jet size/numbering is the same as the stock jet make, then changing the
main jet made no difference since 1700's come with a 182.5 stock. According to my oxygen anaylzer, the front cylinder is at 50% and the rear (which seams to run richer on these bikes) is at 17% oxygen making it extremely too rich. Readings were taken at idle. Since my bike is not fully broken in yet I cannot perform the jetting tests properly and start with a wide open throttle test and work my way back to the idle adjustments. For now, I would like to get it idling close the the proper mix of 14:1, at least on the front cylinder, and whatever the rear cylinder is running will have to suffice until I get my ported intake and see what difference it makes between cylinder mixtures. Shouldn't really make much difference, right? Why does the rear cylinder run so much richer?
Any info is greatly appreciated. I know I've asked alot of questions in this post, but I tried using the search feature to find posts here that already cover this and each time I try to go back to the page that lists the search results I get an error that this page is no longer available and I have to search again. A little frustrating and a lot time consuming. Of the posts I read, I couldn't find a simple list of stock jets, sizes, etc. for the 1700 R*.
Happy humpday!
