Has anyone here ever added an extra clutch plate?

I just redone my clutch and I would have to say there is no room for an extra !!!!!!! Could be wrong though???????

Yes, you could be right. I didn't want to tear into it just to find out. It's a fairly common practice on Harleys and a few other bikes. It's a cheap way to increase clutch pressure and the point of engagement. Our design may not allow it.

Some Harley clutches have a steel plate that is two plates riveted together. It is common for those plates to fail and jam things up because the rivets fail. Barnett has "extra plate" clutches to replace those; the two steels are not riveted and there is an extra friction plate between them.

There is no more room for another frictionplate.
If you want a stronger clutch install the warrior clutchspring or the Barnett clutchspring.
