I use carwash soap, old T shirts, Turtle wax liquid, and Flitz metal polish. I hear microfiber towells are the way to go but haven't used any yet.

I've heard of guys using these cloths but I tired one once and it scratch up my chrome. A very slight haze, but I could tell.

You know the old warning 'Try on an inconspicuous area first.'

I use Pledge when the bike is not dirty but dusty .... or anytime I want it to shine.

Car wash soap when it 'muddy'. No pressure washer. Motel/hotel towels and clean chamois to dry.

I haven't used wax for a long time. I keep meaning to do some more graphics and its not an good idea to use some waxes.

Oh ... and I don't do this myself. I always have the wife wash and dry the bike.

Thanks for the heads up Doc. I'll stick to my old T shirts then. They never gave me any trouble.

I always use heavy duty work gloves (not really) - there are so many places to scrape a hand or knuckle on a Roadie!

Anyone ever use Blue Job for discolored pipes and chrome? What about S200?

Your pipes shields should not discolor.

Blue job .... hmmmm .... I'm skeptical about any kind of 'polish'. Even the finest polishes contain minute particles which will scratch chrome. If my chrome was already scratched then I'd go ahead and use a polish, otherwise soap and water and a soft rag is all I ever use on my chrome.

Of course if the pipes are blue or gold then it's a tossup.

I've used the S100 cleaning stuff and it worked great. But that was back in the days when I wouldn't ride my bike if it had any dust / dirt on it or you didn't get welders flash from the chrome. Never heard of S200.

Some guy at work told me about "The Intimidator" polish. I'm up in the air about it since he told me it has little diamond particules in it. I think that would scratch the heck out of the chrome..... I think I'll just to the old fashion way. The wife idea is a good one.... Maybe even get her to do it in a bikini????
