I use a friction lock. I like it for short breaks. The only problem is that the throttle doesn't hold a speed; you have to keep "Tweaking" it to get a nice speed set. It does however give your wrist a nice rest from time to time. I also like to use it even when I'm still holding on to the throttle, you would be surprised how much that helps.
Only issues are that you can't use some nice after market grips with it. It cost me about $45 and the dealership installed it for free with my last service.

Throttle Rocker here. $6.95.
Been thinking about going with a true throttle lock or cruise control, however. Throttle Rocker's fine, but even that makes for some cramping and tender thumb spots after 14 hours and 500 miles.

I use the vacuum tube and I like that for the breaks I need to do something else such as adjust a glove or something.
I would suggest if you do get one, it disconnects when you touch the front brake.
I use Throttle Rockers on both sides. On my 750 mile trip in 14 hours, they were VERY much appreciated.
I have a Fusion of the right thumb, so I can't grip the throttle and the rockers are mandatory for more than a very short ride for me. They kinda find their own spot and they stay there. If they are off I really notice it.
So the Throttle Rockers and the Vacuum tube works best for me. I have cruise on every other vehicle I own and drive, and I drive about 700+ miles a day last 20 years and I never use the cruise, I think it's dangerous, especially on slippery roads. But it's good for a short break, if nothing happens at that time.

I used a cramp buster. Only cost 6 or 7 bucks and you can ride with an open hand. ended my cramping problems. I could ride all day in comfort. Best 7 bucks I ever spent.

One good thing about the cramp buster is they are guaranteed for life. We had one that broke, contacted the company, sent it back and they replaced it with two more. A good company to deal with.
Ride safe...

I've got the Vista Cruise on mine and like Darn Oldie if you use it for a long streach you have to tweak it but It's great for cramp relief.
