windshield 5 Years, 5 Months ago
As I've said before, I'm a new Road Star 'biker'. You guys are great to offer helpful info to newbies like myself. I'm considering a Yamaha windshield that has light bronze tint. Do any of you have info, recommendations or suggestions on lightly tinted windshields ? Thanks in advance

I had one on a different bike for about a month. I found out I didn't like it at night and I also started liking how it looked on the bike less every day. But that's just my thoughts. You may love it.

are you considering the one from Cee Baileys??

I ordered one and its still in the box....

Was a little darker than I thought it would be.

Didnt like it and the wife didnt either.. its for sale

but may go with a different color bike had one on my Harley Batwing fairing and liked it ...but the bike was beige and gold but on the R* star the clear looked and matched better

PS Their Aircraft windshield polish and cleaner is awesome and the best thing I have ever used on chrome and clear coat paint as well

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2006/12/27 19:41

Thanks guys for your input. I took a ride this afternoon and wish you could have joined me. It was nice. I think I'll stay with a clear shield. Do you like the quick release shields? It's my understanding that Yamaha doesn't make a quick release for the Road Star. Any suggestions on a good quick release ?

Two bolts on each side and the Yamaha shield is off, no biggie. Takes less than 2 minutes.

Just like RoadieFF said. I had Mustang on my last bike which is supposed to be quick release. 4 bolts. Just like the R*. The only difference was the Mustang had Allen head bolts and they supplied a long Allen wrench. Probably save 30 seconds over the roadie shield.
