I tried it for a while. It didn't make my clutch slip, but it also didn't change the sound of the motor.

It so states right on the web site as well as the bottle to use up to 20% I think. Safe for clutches. I used it no problem.
BUT, I did notice that when I have SVS or a leaking intake I get the noise your talking about, Lucas quiets it down a lot, but right after they fixed it I used Amsoil with no Lucas and it had no noise.

I used a little Lucas oil stabilizer in the crank
I was thinking of doing this, but haven't because I am worried that it may make the clutch slip. Anybody have any long term reviews of adding the Lucas Oil Stabilizer directly to the oil? Any clutch problems, or is it a go for it situation?

Only 10 % lucas in your oil for wet cluch app...harley takes up to 40%..But Lucas fuel additive, 1 ounce per tank and knock gone in 2 tanks. I use it ever time, I have a jug and shot glass in my saddle bag.

Whenever intake or exhaust mods are made; it's always a good idea to re-jet. Dyno jet offers a good jet kit and make good recomdations as to what stage and jet sizes to use. After re-jetting; its a good idea to keep a close eye on spark plug color for a while. (Do this even if the bike is running well).
the aftermarket jet kits offer a decent starting point, but if you follow their advice most of them will jet the Roadie way too rich. You have to be careful with that because this model engine is very prone to problems with carbon build up on the exhuast valves. Re jetting for an aftermarket exhaust typically doesnt need to be done unless you open up the air box. Then you certainly have too.

I'm having the same concern with my 07. I.ve always ridden sport bikes before and everyone knows that most of these 4 cylinders in most sport bikes are very smooth and quiet. So all this engine knoise kinda made me nervous. The dealers reply was typical.
My question is: Iv'e heard posotive things about Synthetic oils as well as Marvel mistery oil in the gas. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the best remedy for the knocking.

I'll find a couple of post here in a minute for you that will let you hear others roadies run, so you can know what to expect. These big V twins are noisy machines. Even with Syn oil they make alot of noise. They will knock more if you run them at too low of rpms. Inspite of the concept This engine likes RPMS. nothing like a sport bike but they sound terrible pulling a load at only 1500 or even 1900 rpms. Lugging the engine is bad for it and will drive you crazy with the knocks. IMO
BTW...start a thread and introduce yourself. Welcome aboard.

This is my 1st roadstar and I was not aware that they were prone to carbon build up. Thanks for the advice; I will keep a very close eye on this
