Which Royal Purple? I run RP 20/50 car oil. My bike likes it. Not sure what the largest filter is. Best is open to a lot of debate. I run a Bosch but I can't remember the number right now.

hey good info it looks like the KN303 is the best one. K&N lists the roadstar as the application for the KN303.
http://www.knfilters.com/search/applications.aspx?Prod=KN-303
so if your bike blows up frome useing a non-yamalube filter as the dealers would like you to belive. you could sue K&N sweet.
no how abount that royal-Purp any complaints any tesomonys?

I'm running a Nissan oil filter 15208-9E000.
Also have the Purolator "Pure-One" PL14610 on a Venture.
Both are very well made with the the correct bypass pressure.

There are a lot of good filters out there and personally I think people should be asking which ones NOT to use. Like the standard Fram filters. And from seeing the guts of a Wal-Mart Supertech, I wouldn't use it either. Not much filter media in it, but it is better than the Fram; but what isn't?

Well,,,,,Like I said in the other oil/filter debate yesterday I had already changed my oil yesterday morning and then came in to read all the negatives on the Fram and guess what...yep, I had the Fram on there before reading all of this.....getting to the point now, I didn't get a chance to ride yesterday but got out and rode about 20 miles today and parked in the garage and all I could smell for the next hour was oil! , well no oil leaks found, run the bike down the road to get the temp up and checked the oil just to make sure the level was good (only put in 4qts) Then checked the air filter, yep it was full of oil!!!.......I may be wrong but would the Fram oil filter couse these engines to build up that much pressure to vent the oil back to the air filter? I know it would do this if I had overfilled, but my oil level is dead center halfway on the marks on the stick!............Just for the heck of it all I just ordered the KN-303 filter strait off their website and paid $10 extra to have it air shipped in 2 days! I'm getting the Framed filter off ASAP!!!
