Shift lever position 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
2007 Roadie. I'd like to lower the height of the front shift lever to make it a little easier to up/down shift. It looks like there's an allen screw in the center that the whole thing pivots on. Should I remove and re-install a few splines different or adjust linkage rod to make this adjustment? I don't really use the the rear part of the lever either, can I just remove it? Thanks guys.

Yup. You can take off the back part. Try taking the clamp off the tranny shaft and rotating it forward a couple teeth.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Also have a set of Kromewerks mufflers to put on this weekend. Can't wait to hear the pucka, pucka, pucka sound at a stoplight.

You know one way you might try is to loosen the nuts on the shift rod, take it off, and adjust the threading accordingly. Play a little with the threading on it... you might be able to lower it just by that.

That's the first thing I did to my new R*. I lowered the rear shifter a couple notches.

I did the same thing. It was sitting way to high for my liking.

Now that's different. I like it! Sawed off the rear half on my 03'. Works sweet.

There are three ways to relocate he shifter pedal. The pedal and the lever behind it can be relocated on the splined shaft. The lever at the transmission can also be relocated on the splined shaft. And the length of the pushrod can be adjusted.
