big bore kit 5 Years, 4 Months ago  
has any one did the big bore kit? and if so how do you like it. was their a big improvment in power and would you do it again? i have did the basic stuff to my 05 ported manifold rejetted air cleaner pipes computer and it runs good but aways looking for more power i like tecruser style but i also like to go fast.

A friend had a stage 4 kit on his R*. After getting over the "power-drunk" feelings that it gave him, He had it removed and went back to the stage 2 (which sounds like where your at). But yes, the big bore kits provide more power in short.

Why not just go HC pistons, then you don't need to touch the cylinders.

I did the big bore kit last winter..for my '02, I have the 108" kit. ANd yes...it provided a hell of alot more power. Put it this way, I pretty much had to learn how ride my bike all over again because of the increase in power. The way I rode my bike before I installed the kit, and then after installation, I had to learn how much throttle to give just to come off the line....especially if I'm hot rodding from stop light to stop light. I'm very very happy with the results. But....I'm like you....time for some more power. My next performance upgrades will be ported heads, valve job, and more than likely a 42mm carb. Hope this answers your question.
