Engine life 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I have a 06 roadstar, 47,000 miles, can anyone tell me how many miles I can expect before major engine problems ? oil and filter changed every 3,000, or most miles anyone has heard of without going into engine.
Thanks,
joefm

You should be able to go well over 100,000 under normal operation.

Feed it clean air and fuel. Use good quality oil and change it and the filter regularly. Yreat her like the lady she is and she will take you a long long ways.

I asked the same question..The answers I got made me feel that I had bought one of the best bike for longevity...A big strong engine that will cruise along at low rpm on the freeway..there was a lot of guys that had well over the 100,000 miles and thier bike still ran like new.
congrates and welcome to the clinic!

If you have 47,000 on the bike, you might consider having the valves adjusted. Keep it maintained you should have alot of life left in it.
