Sticky clutch 3 Years, 3 Months ago
Hey guys, My RS has a sticky clutch but only when it hasn't been out for a week or so. When i start it, it is al fine till im ready to go, pull in the clutch, click into gear and it jumps forward and stalls. If i pull the clutch in and out about 10 times it seems to be OK, is fine once i get going.Have no problems after the inital start up. Clutch is adjusted good. Could it be the oil?
Thanks

Your clutch is bathed in engine oil, when it sits a while the plates get dry and stick together. You answered your own question, after its been sitting a while you'll need to work the clutch a few times to get them unstuck. Common occurrence, no worries.

I instinctively work the clutch handle in and out several times with the engine running in neutral before attempting to put it in gear on a cold engine. To me it just seems like the thing to do. I visualize it as the oil coating the plates and disks after a long static rest. What weight oil are you running and what are the ambient temps when it does this?
