I would also like to hear from anyone with these pipes. I'm just about to lay down the cash for them. My friend has 99' roadstar with some "old" cobras, has to be one of the best sounding bikes I've heard.

Hi. What year is your Roadstar? I'd like to know where you are looking to buy these pipes. I went to their website to shop and hear and see these right now on ebay. Item number is 310116745410. I am trying to gather as much info before I make a purchase so I don't make a mistake.

I think you can hear them on the cobra website. I have the speedster longs. They were a little too loud for me on longer rides, so I purchased the quiet cores. www.cobrausa.com

I am not sure what they sound like compared to the Classic Slashcuts I had on my R*...see my web page and intro sound clip which was taken from the cobra website...(I think these sound clips were tweaked somewhat in the music studio)

But both the Cobra slip ons and the Classics were loud and middle of the road quality....

ednier I just put the cobra slashdown's on my 08 Roadstar. Got the quiet baffle and didn't find they were too loud at all. Sounds real good. I'm dealing with the popping on deceleration. It has always done it, but was muffled with the stock pipes. Just bought a Power Commander and got it today. Downloaded the program I think I'll need. Will try to install the unit within the next couple days. The local shop I use is familiar with my bike and the power commander so if I have any problems they said bring it by.
The pipes look GREAT and sound good. They will be perfect if I can get rid of the popping. I'll post a pic soon.

If it's popping on decel after installing new pipes, removing the AIS will usually take care of that problem.

you can find some sound bites on youtube of several different cobra pipes, not all on R* but it will give you an idea of the sound

Hi onthego,
On cobras website, the pictures of the installed speedsters show the upper pipe being level with the axle nut. Are yours this way ? I have read on other sites some people complaining that these pipes are much lower than pictured. Glad you like yours, deciding on pipes can drive a person nuts.

Fever, my lower pipe is even with the axle nut. Upper is past it.
Stinger, if the Power Commander doesn't help I'll look into that. Thanks for the info.
