#164385 01Roadrunner (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 16 Tranny recall, clutch plate spring question 2 Years, 11 Months ago   Just got off of the phone with the service manager at the dealership where my bike is having the tranny recall done. I'm going to have the oil pump gear done & replace the clutch plate spring. He told that there are 3 Yami springs to choose from 7%, 20% & 27% stiffer & recommended I have the 20% stiffer spring installed. What do you think? This was a preliminary conversation we'd had. I mentioned to him that I'd had issues with the clutch last fall & wanted to know what his thoughts were. My guess would be that the spring is stock. I don't pull a trailer & the riding I do is mixed city & highway. Last fall I had to have the clutch cable adjusted, too much play, afterwards it felt like it was slipping in high gear. I did see them some where for 147 shipped can't remember where. If they haven't taken the bike apart yet, then you should also look into the hi compression pistons and valve springs! Plus you can have the clutch springs done also, man will those pistons change the sound of your bike...wow. They will swing a deal with you for installation if they already have it apart, it will save you a ton of money, just something to think about.
