and ill try the tank venting thing as well is there anyway anything can be harmed by just doing away with the oem vent tube and goin for just some kind of open line???

The vent tube is an open line. It's just a rubber hose. It has a rollover valve on the end that gets get clogged up so people take it off. But it could also be a kink in the hose or the metal vent tube built into the tank. That's why when this happens you need to pop the gas cap to see if you hear a sucking sound. If you don't then it isn't the problem.

I had the same problem last year. Finally turned out to be the fuel line was bent to sharply and once the engine warmed up the rubber would get softer and crimp closing the fuel supply. I would pull over engine would start back up once fuel got back to carb. Would run a little while and do it again. Put on new braided fuel lines and removed roll over valve just because and everything has been great for the last 6,000 miles.

Line looked like this:

Could this line being plugged also cause small ammounts of gas to bubble out of the tank with the cap on?? Just noticed the marks from that this morning on the tank.

That's probably another issue.

You would have to fill the gas tank up to the top on a cold morning .... pretty hard to do unless you are trying. When you look inside the filler hole, do you have the holes in the tube inside the tank?

Cannot see any holes through the filler hole there is a long sleeve that prevents seeing where the outlet is. I am assuming your asking if i can actually see the vent tube hole top left of the tank right above the filler hole?? I was able pull the vent tube off the tank nipple and blow through it it seems a little restricted but not totally blocked. I tryed to run a small wire trough the vent tube hole (tank end), but it is restricted down to maybe the size of a picture wire and cant make the bend to actually enter the tank. Should I pull the tank and try to blow through it as well???

You cannot thread a wire through the vent tube ... the exit inside the tank is in the shaft, not on the end.

If you pressurize the tank through the gas inlet you can feel the air come out of the vent tube.

As I previously said ... go for a ride and when she dies take off the gas cap and see if it you hear a sucking sound.

The holes I was referring to were in the sleeve ... some folks make holes so they can fill the tank up more. Without those holes it's very hard to fill the tank enough that it comes out the filler hole.

Don't know if this helps but a couple of years ago I was out fishing on lake Michigan, and when it was time to come in I powered up the ole merc. Well about a half a mile later the motors died, after I re-primed them all was ok for another quarter to half mile and they died again. I couldn't restart them again so the Coast Guard towed us in. After I got the boat home and took a good look, I didn't have to look very far, it (now don't laugh) was a bottle-fly was stuck in front of the fuel filter. Got him (or her) out and never had a problem again........so far.
