#185199 Road507 (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 3 08 R whining sound from engine 3 Years, 1 Month ago   Just got this bike and I have about 100 miles on it. I just notice tonight when I start the bike and rev it up a little I get a whining sound in the engine. This could be a high pitch vibration sound however I can't figure out where it is coming from. It seems to be coming from the lower right hand side of the engine. I can't recall hearing this before so I am just wondering if this is normal or is it just me? I think it is the square cut cam gears on mine as the "whine" comes from the cam cover when listening with a stethoscope. I removed the AIS in March of '07, so not that. It changes with the RPM's .
