okieguy....I wanna know how that thousand pound spring works for ya . Been wanting to try it also, the ad said it would'nt raise it but would stiffen it up. Mine's way to spongy with both , me and my wife, and bags loaded for the weekend.

Dave, I'm 6-4, they work great for me. One good friend is 5-6, he's a bit stretched out. So,.......................................................

Re:raising the rear.... 5 Years, 2 Months ago
I had the new Eibach 1000 pound spring installed this morning. I think I will really like this stiffer spring. It improved the handling without making it too stiff (it is firm). Have not had a chance to ride 2 up yet but I think it will make a huge difference.

JD: I don't think it raised the ride height any except it does not squat as much.

I will post as soon as I get to ride 2 up. May be a little while, my wife is a fair weather rider.

The lesser compression should help worlds. I can feel the bike squat as I roll into a turn, so it is definately and issue. Look forward to hearing how the 2-up goes. Incidentally, the rear pre-load is maxed out, and I am running 20W Bel-Ray fork oil at 10mm higher than stock. The front works great like that, but I gotta get the back working better........

I got to ride a couple miles last night with my son on the back. Combined weight 400 pounds. The new spring made a BIG difference. I think the stiffer spring is the setup for riding with a passenger especially if you are getting close to the max weight.

Haven't been dragging the foot rests but do occassionally bottom out. I think Looneys has a variable rate spring 850-1200 lbs. They have a lowering kit as well but I think the spring can be used as a stock replacment. Here's a URL
