No test that I know of ... usually one replaces with the stock one that's in the box in the basement.
You could call Dyna and see if they have a testing process.
Go for a ride first before you go in another direction.

I think he may mean the ignitor ... the black box forward of the battery.

Sorry about that folks. Yes it is the ignitor on the older models. The 2008 and up bikes have an ECU (Engine Control Unit) which takes the place of the ignitor box. It has two connectors on it instead of three like the ignitor.

If I'm good for the ink, I will gladly give you a heads up if I ever find myself coming that way. Never know, I have people all over, and I get around.

Okay so wasnt the vent tube that is ruled out its still dying out on me. How if there is anyother way to vent the tank to just bypass that whold problem, or would that cause more problems that it would cure? The reason I am asking is im not sure that the metal tank end of the tube should have been so hard to blow back through or is it supposed to be hard to pass air back into the tank through that tube??
So what would you suggest next guys??? I will look into the ignition as well as soon as i figure out a way to test the one that is on it, with out just goin ahead and buying a new one

The tube is hard to blow through so the only way to tell if it's not blocked is to free the air going through. I believe it was suggested to try running without the cap. It doesn't matter how you vent the tank. The OEM way is required so that if you take a spill you're not lying in a pool of gas.
So .... if you start a cold bike this problem occurs about 15 min or so later when the bike is warmed up. After it dies can you start it right up or do you have to do something?

It's not a venting problem because if it were, he would not be able to ride 30 miles initially. I still say it is an electrical component problem, either the ignitor (ECU on 2008 & up) or the Dyna. After it gets heat soaked, it is failing.

Oh okay got ya, yeah that is suspect still but it will be the last thing I replace and does anybody know how to test those aftermarket ones to see if fuctioning properly?? it currently has a dyno revmaster on it would be cool to just test it to see if its working right if there was a way to.
The only test is replacement. If replacing the unit cures the problem then it was the problem. If replacing the unit doesn't provide a cure then it isn't the problem.

Agreed .... and with the cost of these units it's best to eliminate all other possible problems so you don't waste money buying parts you don't need.
