I`ve had the Break away Cruise control now for over 6 months and love it.
I was wondering what all you guys are doing. My trips tend to be at least

Hey Vegas,

I went to the breakaway website, and it looks like a really nice cruise control. Simple to use. How difficult was the installation? I have been looking for a good, sturdy CC. Thanks.

It was real easy, kind of pricey but worth it All CNC machined and the fact that when you hit your front brake lever it disengages.Musky must have a stonger right hand than mine What is it you do do keep that hand so strong Musky

Hey vegas

My hand used to get tired when I was holdng on to the grip all the time. If I want to give my right hand a rest I just relax the grip and more or less just have my hand laying on it. Probably isn't as good as being able to take my hand completely off but that's OK with me.

I am fickle as hell though and my opinions change on a whim. I might put on on next week for all I know. These things come on suddenly and with no warning

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2007/03/02 10:10

I use the Vista throttle lock. The Break away is alot better looking device for sure, but for 30 bucks the vista works well. I did have to modify it slightly when installed to work with my ISO grips.

I ride long rides 200 plus, and my hand would go numb after about an hour. I don't use it around town at all or in heavy traffic. Even though you can still work the throttle manually when engaged.

Hey, it works! I just don't like the idea of my throttle not backing off when I let go. In a pucker situation I don't want to have to tap the brake to get my throttle to let go.

That's just my opinion based on the fact that multi tasking for me is walking and watching where I'm going at the same time.

I am not using a cruise control, but I do have a throttle rocker. Allows you to rest your hand and maintain speed with out the grip and roll. And Musky, as soon as you let go the throtte snaps back.
