you can try to grind a slot to use a flat head screw driver. also sometimes screws and bolts will break free if you try to tighten them first then loosen. before you try to turn the screw again use a hammer on the end of the screw driver to shock it first sometimes that will help to loosen the threads. if you have PB blaster it works better than wd40
