Red signal light bulb...
Click on colored bulbs and you will find a RED colored bulb for the rear signal lights with clear lenses Kuryakyn part #4620 PR21W
http://www.kuryakyn.com/category.asp?bn=metric&cn=Lighting&page=5
this is the odd pin configuration and is NOT the older 1156 which is shown in red
I believe in my 2005 R* the rear is an amber bulb part PY21W of course only available thru Yamaha
I ordered a pair and we will see of they fit..yes they are expensive... like the OEM ones...
I prefer that my rear signal lights to be RED
they also would be needed if you were to use their controller to change the single turn signal to a brake turn and running light.

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/03/06 04:12

If there is an Advanced Auto parts store where you are they sell red jell covers that go over top of your yellow bulbs , still as bright and looks great . or you can try a truck stop that sells stuff like that .

Silver Chrome "Silver Red" 7507 BAU15s Bulbs for $3.49 apiece:
http://autolumination.com
They look transparent in clear lenses, but light up in your choice of colors.
I'm using these because I bought the Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake Controller to convert my rear turn signals to running lights.
Thanks.

Post edited by: 06MidnightStar, at: 2007/03/06 06:40

Pop Rivet:
Even though I bought the Kury Run-Turn-Brake Controller last Fall, it is a Spring installation project for me. The Road Star is in the shed - and the shed has no electricity and more importantly, NO HEAT!
Anyone who owns a 2004-2007 Road Star knows that it is lacking in the "rear visibility" department. Road safety is a primary concern of mine, so I needed to address that issue before the new riding season. The Kury option is effective because it not only adds brake lighting, but also serves as rear running lights.
The facts that it is Plug & Play (no cutting, drilling, re-wiring) and relatively inexpensive (considering $$$ and/or time investment) sold me.
Autolumination has low shipping charges and fast shipping!
Thanks for the karma, too.
Good luck.

You can use a regular car bulb for turn signal the bulb original has a 3 pin configuration the car bulb has a 2 pin but the diameter of the base is the same and the voltage is also the same. the price is not $10 to $14 at dealer. File off the lower pin and it slides right in the bulb doesn't move and you get 2 for $1.99 at wal mart. Believe it or not a dealer turned me on to the idea.

Update
The 1157 amber bulb lower pin can be ground however there is some difference in wattages and there is three supports for the running light filiament in the Yammi bulb and only two for the 1157 amber which makes the Yammi bulb a rough service bulb and probably worth the extra money
7225 is NOT a replacement as it is a two pin offset index.....
Now to the chrome bulbs....7507
Order and received them ...they are no where nearly as bright as the amber bulb rear bulb OEM...
Although I cancelled the kuryakyn bulbs mentioned in the previous post for the cheaper chrome bulb because they were on back order...yes..because it is a new item they dont yet have in stock...since I ordered the run brake signal controller
plug and play for the Road star...
I am reordering the red rear bulbs at the higher price hoping they will be as bright as the amber OEM ones and not washed out like the chrome 7507 red ones
Also it looks like you could grind one of the pins off the 1156 bulb either pin
and make it fit for the 7507 in the rear dont know how well it stays in though

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/03/16 09:55

I missed this post before. I ordered the chrome bulbs once. I won't use them because they aren't very bright. Wish I would have seen this before so I could have told you not to waste your money.

To All,
I recently installed the Kury run-turn-brake controller on my '05 Roadstar along with the Silver Vision red bulbs; ordered them from Custom Dynamics, a company located in North Carolina. Two things to note; with the run-turn-brake controller I ended up needing the additional load equalizer; ordered it directly from Kuryakyn. Second thing; although I like the Silver Vision bulbs (they're definitely cheaper than Kury's!) but they have kind of an orangish tint; not true red like the tail light. Installation was a breeze with the plug & play feature, not the real pain like it was installing it on my Vulcan years ago.
In The Wind,
Aaron
