Jacker:

Tap on the lines and barely pull the lever. I actually let the lever snap back. You'll see bubbles. Do that about 100 times and you'll feel the pressure coming back. When you replace the lines, they're full of air.

You'd want to close those bleeders...

I just bought one of these pump bleeder systems. Looks like you hook it to the bleeder and pump fluid up into the system to force the air out. I've got a new line going on with the apes next week, so I'll give it a shot. Got to work better than the old way...

Good luck!

easy way? open the bleeders and pour brake fluid in, pump it til it starts shooting out. then fill up the reservoir as normal and bleed.

It can. While pumping , tap any place on the system with the handle end on a screwdriver , where air is trapped. Like at the banjo bolt where the line meets the master cylinder. It can be painstakingly long. I bought a brake system bleeder because of just such a situation. But if you keep working at it , it will eventually come around. BB

Fill the res with brake fluid, set cap on loose, and pull the lever a few times. Then zip tie, tape, string, the lever back to the handlebar like it would be if you had the brake on and leave it sit over night. Then fill up the res and put the top on tight. See how that works. It lets air go uphill by itself instead of trying to force it downhill.
