Air in the lines can be frustrating (no pressure), and if you've put new lines on, it can be frustrating for a while. I actually got myself a vacuum line bleeder after replacing the top lines on the front brakes with SS and bleeding manually, which took me maybe 1/2 an hour. When I replaced the fluid entirely in the front, that vacuum setup came in handy.

The manual process really isn't all that bad, though, as long as you carefully follow the process: pump the lever several times, then hold it compressed. Crack open the bleeder to let air out (you'll see bubbles eventually). Close the bleeder, then pump and hold again. Crack open the bleeder.... When you start getting fluid only, you're good.

The other thing you have to keep an eye on, of course, is your fluid level in the master cylinder. As the air is purged from the system, the fluid level will drop, so you'll have to add some along the way.
