WHAT??!!

DOUBLE WHAT!!!

TRIPLE WHAT????

I usually hit 5th about 70, which depending on where I'm riding isn't too often.

Unless I'm thinking backwards(entirely possible) A bigger rear will give you higher RPM's. You would need to go smaller in the rear (or bigger in front)to drop your revs.

Junglebear, sounds exactly like you have a bigger drive pulley. That would explain your lower rpms at high speeds and lugging. When I had my stock pulley on my 02', I would hit 5th at 60-65....and that is just for cruising. Unless of course I'm hot rodding around. How is your gas mileage? Did I read in one of your other posts that you are pretty carboned up? That would be a good cause of your carbon problem....because your engine is lugging way too much due to your larger drive pulley.

Post edited by: beefcake2play, at: 2007/03/11 09:37

Remember guys ..... he has a 1600 which has a 33 front pulley.

Still 2500 rpm at 90 is not 'normal' for a stock 1600 setup.

What do you have for a pulley on the rear. I can't see it being anything but stock or an HD equivalent .... and you can't go bigger (more teeth) in the front.

Thanks Doc. I know I couldn't on other bikes but didn't know about the Roadie. Even with the 33 front it still seems way off to me. What else could it be if it isn't a smaller rear?

Well...unless perhaps your speedo is off by alot, where you think you are doing 90 when you are actually doing 60. Then that would kinda explain your lugging motor, carbon build up and low rpms at what you may think are high speeds. I don't want to question your knowledge man, but I"m just trying to help you out as well. Just a suggestion.

jvcexc....did you ever find out anything on your bike that was giving that vibration? I think we all kinda got off your subject and went to junglbear's problem. Let us all know what's up.
