EFI Management Hardware 3 Years ago
|
|
I had some issues with Power Commander quitting and leaving me stranded. Not to mention they can be very hard to set up on a Roadie. Well I am trying Cobra's EFI 2000R and it works awsome and sets up like a carb with air fuel mixture- needle- main jet settings. The performance is incredible, I have a 2008 Roadie with Vance & Hines Powershots and an open K&N. I highly recommend Cobra's 2000R for ease of set up and performance fpor fuel injected Roadies.

Just a question, I need to update my EFI, I have added samson mufflers and a speedtar K@N filter system. SO in dooing my research power commander comes as the Power commander III works with 08 roadies and now there is a new power commander V for the FI roadies. were you using the power commander III and maybe that is why they have come out with the Power commander V.
Did you find the cobra a easier to set up system. does it have pre setup maps or do you have to set them up?
thx

The Cobra system is preset from the factory, but you can tweak it for YOUR bike. They have detailed instructions. Mine also works great.

Weird. I have the Power Commander III on my "08" and it works well. Hope to have it stay that way My wife has the Cobra FI2000 on her 1300 V-Star and it too works great. I think when I bought my PC Cobras where not out yet.

I had a very bad problem with a Cobra 2000 FI, it would not stay set and after speaking with the Rep. who was an ass, at Cobra I will not buy anything cobra.
I was thinking of going with a P/C FI but after reading several post about all the problems when putting a new FI on, there seems to be a problem with 08 and 09 accepting them. Seems the manufactures have not found a solution to the o2 sensors, so I will put up with the pop's and backfires until they do!!!
what a long strange trip SYF

Nope pc III. Flat out if the pcIII or V fails in operation your bike will not run until you remove it. This happened to me twice and left me stranded. So %#@&**##@ the pc and go cobra it's simple to set up and performance is great and best of all if it fails the bike still runs and gets you home. No maps it has 3 pots(air mixture, needle, main jet) that adjust like a carb. But it will come set for your bike and if it needs tweeked call cobra and they know it. Any questions let me know. Doomed

The exhaust popping and backfires are due to the AIS and you can reference the treads on here for disabling it. For EFI stuff check out this thread:
"EFI & aftermarket pipes, intake".
