i donīt reccommend bridgestones to my clients.
iīve seen more defective bridgestones (cupping, bubbles where the tread separates from the carcase, uneven wear) than any other tyre.
dunlops - not bad, last well, work well in the rain.
ME 880īs - the best, no question.

I think that Kenda tires are pretty good I have installed several for customers and have them on my own R*. My rear has over 11,000 miles on it and still going strong, $#160.00 installed for a 160/80x16 rear.

I for one do run Bridgestones (both on the 'Liner , and on the Roadie) and have never had any issue that made me feel like shopping around. I ride aggressively in the mountains , ride in the rain , in the cold , and good sunny days as well. Put a lot of miles on bikes , have ridden on tires I would not buy again , but the 'Stones for these two bikes fit my bill.
One thing to keep in mind , when asking tire opinions. We all ride on different roads (compounds in blacktop differ , flat/mountainous , etc..), have differing riding styles , check our tire pressure at different times (that one is key for tire life..), etc. So opinions will vary. Good to ask a wide audience , but in the end , it's your butt sitting over your purchase.  BB |

I bought a pair of Kenda bicycle tires one time in an emergency (they were the only tired available in the right size) I bought them thinking I'd replace them right away but I liked the way they handled so much I kept them on, they lasted an incredibly long time too.

I just bought a set of Metzler Marathon 880's. I'm gonna mount 'em myself and see about making a balancer. The PO had run my current set of Metzlers under pressure and cupped them pretty bad... Shame too, they have lots of tread left. The manufacture date is 2003, so I'd like to replace them anyway. He was running them at 35 psi like the manual says, but the tires say 50 psi... I'm thinking I'll run these at the higher pressure. |

Wow no one piped up about Avon Venoms. I think they are the best  Actually I like the Avon tire and won't be running anything else unless I can't get them for some reason. I know many like the Metz here and I cannot comment as I have never run them. All I know is the Avon's stick great wet or dry, I got 12,600 miles on the last rear tire, which by the way was 2,000 more than I got out of the stock Bridgestone. They are wide white wall and look darn good, and feel even better. |

I just started running the Avon Venoms this year as we share a common stat - a higher weight rating  .
They look and handle great for me so far. My Dunlop Cruisemax and OEM Bridgestones lasted 8K on the back each.

I'm with y'all on the Venoms. The 'H' rated rear tire is a 77H load rating (906 lbs) and yep, they do grip well. Many over at the Venture forum get 12k miles or better. There has been a few complaints of cracking sidewalls (mine too) but I think it was a small bad batch.

I just replaced a set of the brazilian made mets.... got over 16000 miles out of them. The wear indicator on the front was still untouched and the rear was just scuffed. I had not issues whatever... other than the ww's discoloring in some places.
IMO they are great tires.
