That sounds a little better. I would check the preload on the neck bearings. Search the tech section for loose frontend. and it sould help with test and repair proceedures.

Steering neck bearings properly torqued? Tire can be slightly cupped. If you have a lift/jack, put it in the air and position your wheel straight ahead. Tap it lightly to either side, it should not fall all the way over to the side until it gets a little over half way, then the weight of the front wheel will pull it on over. But it should not fall over from straight ahead.

You might already know what to look for but, check the sides of the tire for verticle indentions, it's an indication of bad belts. Check in the tread real good for a puncture that hasn't thrown back out yet too.

Have you ever had a windshield before?
If the wind is just right and the windshield is angled a certain way, it can turn a fine steed into a vagrant plow easy.

Is it an up/down shimmy or a side to side, fast or slow, does it vary with throttle or wheel speed?

You might also try a few things to see if the swingarm bushings are worn too.

I've got the same problem ... I get that front end deceleration wobble around 35mph - when tires we're new - if the REAR tire was a little low (I run 42psi - M880's) I would get a deceleration wobble - accessories on the front end amplify the effect - I put on lowers and the wobble increased. now that I'm due for new tires the wobble is there - and I will have the neck bearing packed when I have them put on the front tire.

don't want to hijack the thread... I assume you're asking me. I'm getting around 13,000 and the rear tire is due... front is still good but I change the front when I get new rubber on the back.

Actually was asking original poster (weightsnut). I did ask him in a previous post, but did not get an answer, guess he overlooked that part of my post. I know some tires especially Dunlops (certain models) and Bridgestone (again, certain models) wear out and cup well before hitting 10k miles. Myself, been using Metz 880's on 2 different bikes over the last 6yrs (150k miles) and consistently get 15k on rear and close to 30k front

Ok. Here's where I'm going with this issue. Had a tech head friend take a look at my tire. He did say it's time to replace it. Unfortunate I didn't find you guys sooner. Just put the new rear tire on last month and scheduled the new mount on Fri am. They are both Dunlop. However, next replacement I will give the Metz a shot. I asked the shop to check out the torque on the bearings too. Hopefully, this will do the trick. Thankyou guys so much for all the awesome input you all ROCK!
