2 into 1 pipes 2 Years, 9 Months ago
Is anyone running the Hard Chrome 2 into 1 Side burner? I like the looks of the system. I am currently running Roadhouse slip ons , Dyna 3000 , 45 Makuni flat slide. 05 RS Midnight. The shop that I deal with say's that it would really help with midrange torque.

I don't know if pipes will help much with mid-range tq. You could be losing tq due to the carb you are running too. 45hsr is way to big for stock engine, that carb is geared more to a big bore for our engine. Running to rich will also cause poor performance. I know of only 1 person who used the 45, and we could never get it to run correct, eventually he went with the 42hsr, which is much better suited for stock engine. I am quite familiar with the HSR carbs, I don't know how many jetting combos we tried to get the bike to run right, after a couple of months, he gave in and went to the 42, we had that dialed in a few hrs. What air kit are you using?

Patrick Racing Air Kit to include Ported and polished intake. No problems with the way that it performs. It runs like a streak.Still gets 41-42 mpg if you don't hammer it too much. Just asking about the 2 into 1 , the only thing that I had to do with it was use a HD VOS to get the advance right.

The ported intake gives a little boost to hp since it helps to atomize the gas, that carb is still over kill for stock engine. And you would be better to do the TPS mod then the VOES. I've had my 42 in all configs, with VOES, without VOES, and now with TPS mod, big difference even from the VOES mod. More noticable difference with TPS on low end. better acceleration, better fuel mileage too on low end. Curious what setting you using on carb? Pilot jet? Main jet? Turns out on Pilot screw? Which needle and e-clip position.

Erbman02,,I have been running a 45 for quite a while now. it was a bit tricky to get it right but it can be done..that said a 42 is probably a better match..BTW if I stay out of the accel pump I can get in the low 50's mpg The bike idles like a sewing machine and is strong all the way to the top....
So now you know one person that does like the 45....

I'm at work and don't have info. here, But like I said runs great not going to mess with it as it has been on bike for 10,000 miles . Last year we rode the four corners area of Colorado, Az.,NM.,and no problem anywhere except above 10,000 ft. The year before we rode the Coastal Hiway from Pensacola to the Keys. And then back to Missouri. Flashback is correct it was a royal pain to set up, but well worth it. Back to my question??? Is anyone running the Hard Krome Sideburner???

I am running the HK Sideburner. The carb was jetted when I bought the bike so I am not sure what the settings are. I am thinking about going back to stock jets??

I am running the sideburners also. They were on my 2005 when I bought it this spring. I assume it still is stock carb settings. I did upgrade to the K&N air filter with same stock cover. Can't say what if any performance improvements the sideburners might provide. All I know is, my bike runs strong. No SVS, no puke, no backfires, etc, etc., (knock on wood) I do add 3 to 4 oz. of seafoam every few tanks for preventative and run Amsoil syn, but so far that is about it. (knock on wood)
