Clutch setup??? 5 Years, 1 Month ago
I have 45,000 miles on the bike and the clutch is slipping like crazy..
I spent a couple of hours reading thru previous clutch threads.

Now which one is better the retrofit Barnnet Plate with 6 springs and stock fibers and stock plates or.... I am 280 and yes do replace the rear wheel every year. So the clutch takes lots of punishment. I also do not want a much heavier clutch pull. I need to order parts this week so let me know what you guys think.

The Barnett springs with the OEM plates are the best. Yamaha plates are better than most aftermarket brands but the stock spring sucks and that the cause of most slipping issues.

The Barnett springs will give you a much heavier pull than the stock. If you want something in-between the you can install the Warrior or Speedstar spring.

If you're 'rough' on the clutch then go with the Barnett. The Barnett coil spring setup is better than the Yamaha plate spring.

Between the warrior and speedstar which would you rec?

So the spring for the warrior or speedstar will fit with no modifications?
Should I order the same year? I went to the dealer last week for the parts and they wanted around 300 for plates, fibers and new springs that nuts. Do you have any where online where I can buy the kit instead of piece mealing it?

Thanks
You guys have been a gigantic help...

Never had both in hand so I don't know the difference. There are two different Speedstar springs and I don't know which one is equivalent to the Warrior.

Yes. Yes.

There is no kit. You just buy the parts you need.

Check here for parts .... http://www.hellrisercustoms.com/selector.php?group=1&category=Performance&subcat=Clutch+kit&title=Performance%20products%20for%20RoadStar

You will also need a gasket for the clutch housing.

Here is the best place I have found for OEM parts. They are a lot cheaper than any dealer I have found.
