Oil leak 7 Years ago
I have just installed Vance and Hines Longshots and Barron's BAK. I seem to have oil coming out of the vent cap on the oil tank. I have lowered the oil level but it came out again.
Has any one else had this trouble? Is there a fix? The oil level can't be that close to the top. Can it?

Did you re-attached the vent hose from the top of the cylinder to the back of the BAK?

Yes, I checke the hose. Everything seems ok. I have taken the bike back to the dealer. They have lowered the oil level. Still blows out. What weight oil do you use? They are thinking I need 10-50. Where on the dipstick do you keep your level?
Mine is about 1/4 from the bottom of the hash marks.

Re:Oil leak 7 Years ago
Usually I don't use the dipstick. I just change the oiland filter and put in 4 litres. I did, however, a partial oil change last week (need to drain the crankcase to change the clutch) and put in enough so that the dipstick reads about 1/4-1/2 when the bike is level.

I use 15W50 synthetic.

Are the hoses from the heads kinked or blocked? I sounds like the vents are not working and the motor is venting through the oil filler. 1/4 on the dipstick should not make it blow back. Make sure the filler cap is on finger tight.

Thanks, I took the bike back to the dealer and he dumped the oil, refilled with 4 qts and rode it. Checked the level, 1/4 to 1/2 on the stick. No more oil blow out.
Thanks again.

If none of the popular tricks for getting rid of the squeak work, you may need to change out your belt. Sometimes the surfaces harden up to a point where you just can't get rid of it.

I had this problem on the bike in my sig, it just about drove me batty. I changed out the belt with a new Dayco/Panther belt and no more squeaks, ever.
