Look in the tech section, there is an article on how to lower the bike by flipping the "dogbone"; if it has been flipped then just flip it back.

Look for some rust on the link. Unless they painted it, once it is ground on, the surface rusts.

well, I am bummed, the bike was in stock mode, no flip so I put it back togather, you can read about my crash in Bike Talk, Stupid #2..Now I just need to wait untill I can afford to get parts to raise it, gonna be a long wait and my wife will not get back on it untill I raise it... oh well, anyhow ... it really is pretty easy to get the shock out, no big deal, took about 15 min to put it back togather. anyone got some long dog bones for sale, cheep?

You need shorter dog bones, not longer. Just cut and take 1/4-5/16 out of each one and weld them back. I'll bet someone on here will want to buy/swap bones with you if you don't want to modify yours.

I just got under the bike and measured the dog bones, near as I can tell they are a bit over 13 inches from end to end from the outside center and over 12 inch from the center area of the bolts... the center of the rear axel is about 13 1/2 inch from the ground with the bike on its side stand, the tire is still a bit rounded. do I understand correctly that a longer bone = a lower bike? and if my relay apears to have a less than stcok curve in it it may be aftermarket? can I cut the bones down without replacing the relay?

1" Longer dog bones would = a hella drop

ill measure my ground to swing arm pivot and ground to frame when i get home - you got me curious now

center of axle will only change with diff dia of tire. measure from swing arm pivot on frame
