Quick Question 2 Years, 8 Months ago
As we all know, my speedo is out. Since I can't find an OEM replacement, is there any aftermarket parts I can install to take the place of the stock speedometer? Thanks,
CJC

check this link out. select the hly-6000 installation instructions. I think that's what your looking for. http://weislake.com/sig/mucker/hly-6000_installation.pdf . Here's more info on it http://www.bikerbuys.com/Motorcycle_Accessories/Details/Dakota_Digital_HLY-6000_6000_Series_Digital_Speedometer/Tachometer.htm

What I was thinking was, is there an aftermarket speedo or something equivelent that would also fit in the same location as the stock speedo. I can mount something on the bars like what was mentioned above, but I would still have a nice big hole in the dash. Also, that thing is as expensive as a OEM replacement. Thanks for the help,
CJC

Did you check to see if your broken speedo can be sent to a repair shop and fixed? I was in the automotive repair bussiness my whole career. and if we had a inoperative speedo we found a speedo shop to repair it. or sent it thru the dealer to a repair shop. Even if it was unrepairable we could get a rebuilt speedo. Just had to send in the old one along with the VIN of the vehicle so that the miles on the odometer could be set properly and recorded.
check www.speedometerrepairservices.com
Just a thought.

If your going to go custom then you can think outside the box ... you could always drop in a digitial speedo like some cars have ... faceplates are easy to make.

The hardest part would be the thickness and the pickup/sender side.

You should go "Flava Flave" on that hole and glue a big assed clock in it.

Being that I am not working right now, and totally glued on the computer.

I found this, but there is no discription other than what is in the title.

The functions look cool though.
