It's recalled cause it could kill you (not that I haven't been riding without it for thousands of miles). I have mine scheduled for the winter at my Yami dealer, and it's an '01! Maybe it's time to get on the phone with corporate..   Logged     The administrator has disabled public write access. #225439 TVoso (User) Teach a man to fish, you've fed him for a lifetime Fresh Boarder Posts: 63 Re:Recall done? 2 Months ago   Out of date on the recall, I've heard that before. . .My dealer told me the same thing. . . .there is no "Out of date" if you haven't had the recall done, Yamaha will still do it. . . .now the warranty on the work AFTER the recall is done. . .that's a different story. . . .the Yamaha Technical Bulletins will go out of date from what I understand. After my dealer told me that the recall was out of date on my '01 I called Yamaha Customer support and they told me what I just passed above. They broke it when they put the cases back togeather, so that's 50% your fault....I don't think so. As stated in a previous post, be nice and calm with the owner , anything he states, try and get it in writing. If not to your satisfaction, then the next step is a letter to Yamaha, your states attorney general, the better business folks, and to have some fun go to rip off report .com.
