Custom/Replacement Motors 2 Months ago
There are a ton of motors for harley out there. S&S, Ultima, Demon, etc. Anybody building high output motors for RS?

As my mileage creeps up i also wonder where to find replacement stock motors, or would a rebuild be the better way to go. Any one have experience with any of these?

I know of a couple guys who have well over 100k on their bikes, and even some with 200k. Pretty good engines I'd say!

The evolution engine is the same thing in all of the "big twins"; and now the twincam engine. S&S and others can make a copy of the evolution or twincam engine and have a reasonably good size market for it. If you copy the RoadStar engine, how big a market are you going to have compared to H-D?

Yes there are....however we are WAY outnumbered by the HD crowd. I was reminded of this last Friday night at our local Bike Night in downtown Mesa, AZ. There was TONS of eye-candy of every shape and size....from crotch-rockets, to cruisers and tourers....the VAST majority were HD cruisers and dressers....there's a market there, and builders cater to that money....can you blam them? I counted half a dozen Roadies there, out of hundreds of bikes!

Our bikes are great bikes, coming into their own, and starting to get the recognition they deserve, and for good reason.

I personally feel like a member of a pretty elite group. We're the lucky ones who found THIS bike, and ride it like it's meant to be ridden. And as has been said MANY times before....it don't matter what you ride, as long as you RIDE!!!

just my rant this morning,
DKLAZ

Similar situation this last weekend, 200+ Bikes for a fundraiser, counting one other member from RSC and myself there were only 3 other Yamaha's, (5 total) there were 8 honda's, to BOSS HOSS's (one was a trike) 2 Vulcan's and 2 sport bikes, ALL the rest were HD. It was cool to see them all looking at my bike!
