short answer is no. but you will loose some torque and pick up some back fireing..and it may be hazardous to your hearing..

Won't hurt the bike, but as others have said you will lose some torque, and some friends and neighbors. I love the sound, deep rumble of a V Twin, but do not understand the need to share that with people in neighboring states

that was the point to make my neighbors pissed they don't seem to care when they play there stupid rap music or the dog is barking at 4am. so i figure a little loud pipe is in order.. i get bored at 230 on wed nites like to clear my head and go for a ride

Then by all means take them (the baffles) out!

Take them out and see what it sounds like, then decide. I took mine out of my Roadhouse 2-1 and rode around the block once. Got back and put 'em right back in. Way way way too loud. I'm sure each brand of pipes are different, but the RH 2-1 was obnoxiously loud (and I like it loud). I ended up wrapping by baffle with sheet metal which brought the sound level up, but not over the top.

You can leave em out if you like the fashion statement a hearing aide gives. And if you want your torque back, you can weld a washer to a bolt for each pipe and install them about 3-5 inches in to give it some back pressure.
