Well I purchased my set of Dooleys with the slash cut that I was very happy with. Now, with the installation of my Royal star bags I was wanting a little more clearance with the bag bracket and I thought the tappered tip would give me the clearance and it has. It just seems to be a tad quieter... hard to explain, having listened to the slash cut for over a year and then went to tapper... it was just a little quieter. Must be the "wrenchers ear" I have. I also like the looks of the tappered tip too.

I will send you the slash cut if you want to try them out.

Thanks scotto, I'll keep that in mind, I am about to mount a pair of HD bags, so tappered might be better for me too, I'll just have to see. I may have accidently gotten the right ones after all.
