Sir, I also own a 2006 Roadstar. I have done my forks three times. I have 83,500 miles on her. Folling is how I have done my forks: Friday: take the forks apart and let them drain. Sunday: put the forks back together. Prefer to use Red Line Fork Oil in 10 weight. Hope this helps. Good Luck, Roughrider
