HSR carb measurement 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Anyone know how to identify an HSR carb? I need to know how to tell a 45mm from a 42mm.
Do you measure the inside of the mouth?

From looking at the pictures of the 42, 45 and 48, I think you are right.

I guess the HSR42 I bought off ebay is really a HSR45!

What's wrong with getting a 45 for the price of a 42? They normally cost much more than a 42.
Good luck

From what I have heard with a stock engine like mine it's overkill and there are problems tuning it. If were a boost in performance then I would be stoked! but, it seems that it only causes more problems than help.

Flashback is running a 45 I'd check with him. A lot of people say a lot of things but till they do it you never know. Yep been mislead and made some shady purchases on Ebay. When the deal is good it's good, but don't fret.

It's not what I thought I was buying BUT, I guess $200 for a like new HSR45 is pretty good considering a new one is $420+ used $300. It's just frustrating! I still have to wait for my new cables to try it out.

I just wanna ride!

I know how you feel. I bought what was supposed to be an HSR42 of Ebay and it came in and was a HS40.

I have a 42mm on mine. the engine is stock. But a manifold, and speedstar assy was required. I think with a 45-48mm Some eninge mods are needed. Camm and so forth for a larger carb. BTW, my Speedstar HSR carb, I didnt need new cables.
