Glad you got it fixed. I have bought several bike (older, sitting)where the plates were stuck together. Just got on them and rode till they popped lose. I'm not encouraging anyone to ride off in traffic with a non-functioning clutch , but if your area is like mine, somewhere within 15 minutes of where you live is an abandoned wal-mart parking lot where you can trailer your bike to so you can shake it down. I've never had to dismantle one, they always "release".

I had the same thing happen on my '05 last year. I would try to put it in gear and the engine would conk out and die because the clutch plates were stuck. I eventually put the front tire against a tree, revved it ip a little, pulled in the clutch lever and popped it in gear. The clutch released immediately...good thing. Worked fine ever since.

Hi RK. thats exactly the air cleaner I tried to by trough the Canadian distributor "motovan". They told me it was discontinued?? I'll have to try looking at buying from US, but the government taxes items ordered by mail heavily.

Post edited by: Map, at: 2007/04/18 18:14

They did discontinue that one for the roadie but from what I hear they are thinking of bringing it back because of all the calls they got. That's just what I heard.

You have to pay taxes no matter and there is no duty on parts but ...

... you can save considerably by not using vendors who ship UPS. Try and use only vendors who ship by USPS or FEDEX. The PO (which uses FEDEX) changes about $5 for brokerage fees and sometimes they 'forget' to add the taxes.

The cheapest way is to have it shipped to the nearest UPS office in the states and pick it up there. I used Odgensburg. Probably not an option for you unless you heading down to the 401 area for something. I've even timed the deliveries such that when we're heading down for soccer or hockey I can pick it up on the way.

I buy almost everything from the US and learned the hard way now to get it up here.
